This condo kitchen remodel, completed for one of our clients in Plymouth, MI, transformed an outdated space into a contemporary and highly functional kitchen. The project aimed to modernize the kitchen’s aesthetics, enhance its usability for the family, and create an open, flowing space that seamlessly integrates with the rest of their home.
This condo kitchen remodel involved several key upgrades. First, the cabinets were updated to provide more storage, featuring additional shelving and built-in storage solutions. This not only maximized the kitchen’s storage capacity but also contributed to a cleaner, more organized look. The microwave was relocated into an upper cabinet, making way for a sleek new metal hood over the stove. This change improved both the functionality and visual appeal of the cooking area.
New luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring was installed throughout the kitchen and extended into the entryway, ensuring a cohesive look. The choice of LVP flooring offers durability and ease of maintenance, which is ideal for a busy family kitchen. The entryway flooring modification further enhanced the flow of the space, making it more inviting and practical.
To create a truly open and integrated space, the kitchen was designed to complement the rest of the home. This involved not only structural adjustments but also careful attention to finishing details. All end cabinets were fitted with loose doors, giving them a custom, high-end appearance. This attention to detail ensured that the kitchen remodel did not just stand out on its own, but harmonized beautifully with the overall design of the condo.
During the construction phase, we encountered a significant challenge: a gas line for the stove that came up through the floor. This required modifying the corner unit next to the stove and countertop to ensure that the cabinet doors could open properly. Despite this obstacle, our team was able to implement a solution that maintained the functionality and aesthetics of the kitchen.
The reaction from our client has been overwhelmingly positive. They are thrilled with their new kitchen, finding it both practical for everyday use and ideal for entertaining family and friends. The updated space has not only enhanced their daily living experience but has also become a point of pride, as evidenced by the “Kitchen Reveal” parties they hosted for others in their condo association.
